Microsoft Edge Tips

Edge is available for download and is full of fun extensions and extra features to play around with. Whether you are new to Microsoft Edge or have already been using it, here are a few tips that can help you get the most out of this browser!

1. Customization

In the new tab page of Edge browsers, you can fully customize how everything looks and how certain elements work.

Right off the bat, you have three unique design offers, focused, inspiration, and informational, plus an option to fully customize everything yourself.

You can also obviously adjust the basics as well such as light and dark screen, size, and bars.

From there you can change different elements, quick links, and even content such as images.

After setting up the look you want, next is changing your settings.

2. Settings

The first thing you should do is start syncing from your Microsoft account you already have. By doing this you will be able to transfer over all of your data, so you don’t lose anything from the last device you were using.

In the Privacy and Services section, you can change the way the browser trackers work. I highly recommend adjusting this to the best way suited for the way you like to use your device!

Next, choose when you want your browser to clear, just as every time, once a week, or never.

Once you have customized the settings for Chromium Browser, its time too look at adding extensions.

3. Extensions

Microsoft Edge offers several extensions to install that are exclusive.

Here are some of our favorites:

The LastPass extension enables you to store all of your passwords, so you never forget them again. It’s easy to log in and out of everything with these extensions:

AdBlock Plus: This extension removes and blocks annoying ads so you don’t have to deal with them or even see them.

Office online: This useful app allows you to easily create, edit, and view office files from your browser. This is great for anyone that uses Office for business or regularly.

To install new extensions, you can visit the Edge extension store.

4. Features

Here are a few of our favorite features that you can enable and utilize that come with Microsoft Edge.

Reading View: This will clear out all distractions such as ads or page suggestions so you can concentrate on just reading.

Reading List: This allows you to save articles to a list for reading, instead of bookmarking everything.

Sharing: You can directly share any links or screenshots to social media sites with ease.

Annotate: You can write, draw, or highlight content on websites, save it, or share it easily!
